Glitterati

Glitterati, a teal Rhythm Latin dress with glittering gold accents! Firstly, the bodice and long sleeves are made from a sheen stretch knit fabric. The front of the dress has a boat neckline, in contrast, the back has a v-neckline. The dress is form fitting with a drop waist. The skirt transitions to a teal organza fabric, and is several layers. Additionally, there is horsehair hem which exaggerates the silhouette of the skirt. The horsehair is metallic adding an iridescent shine. Lastly, this dress has built-in bra cups, a bodysuit, as well as, an invisible zipper down the center back.

The embellishments on this dress are goal-d! Firstly, gold embroidery appliqué made from metallic thread adorn this teal Rhythm Latin dress. On the left shoulder, the appliqués build up, forming a 3-d appliqué structure. Secondly, the dress shines with Swarovski crystals. Specialty large ravioli Swarovski crystals in Light Peach sparkle around the neckline. Similarly, the appliqués gleam with Swarovski crystals in Light Peach and gold beads. To conclude, accessories on this dress include two wristbands.

The drop waist is characterized by a low waistband or seam which usually falls around or below the hips, rather than the waist. Originally introduced by a British fashion icon and designer, Dame Mary Quant, who was also responsible for the mini-dress and hot pants. This trend was highly popular in the 1960’s and has a resurgence with a modern twist. From free flowing ruffle skirts to a slender pleated skirt. Actress Janine Gutierrez was spotted at her first New York Fashion Week wearing an orange dress with a drop waist that had several ruffle tiers. The dress was very contoured and sexy with a hint of Spanish influence. Jennifer Anniston has also been seen rocking this trend, in a shorter length structural babydoll dress.
