Baladi, a Smooth ballroom gown in red that makes everyone want to get up and dance! Firstly, the bodice of the dress is made from a stretch knit fabric in red. It is both sleeveless and asymmetrical. One side has a thick red strap in place of a sleeve, meanwhile, the other side has a nude elastic strap. The front has a gentle v-neckline, in contrast, the back has a deep plunging v-neckline creating an open back. Another nude elastic strap secures the open back. Secondly, the skirt is made from a lustrous satin-like fabric in a matching red. It is several layers, and each layer can be seen tiered on the front left. Lastly, the dress has built-in bra cups and a bodysuit.

All the embellishments sparkle in gold, including appliqués, high end crystals, and beaded fringe. The embroidery appliqués are made from metallic thread. Baladi, translates from Egyptian to English meaning “of town” or “local.” In english it is comparable to folk, and refers to a musical style, a style of Egyptian bellydance, or Masmoudi Sogheir rhythm, which can oftentimes be heard in baladi music. Traditional baladi dance costumes consist of a long dress that is heavily embellished with fringe made from beads or metal.
