How To Purchase a Dress

1. Fill out the Purchase Contract online and submit.

 

Scenario 1: If you currently have the dress in your possession, please keep the dress and if you have other dresses you are not purchasing, please ship them back. Once the Purchase Contract is submitted, the dress will be identified as sold. Our preferred method of payment is by personal check. Make checks payable to Encore Ballroom Couture. Please include the check with the dress(es) you are returning. If you do not have other dresses to return, please mail the check to Encore Ballroom Couture, Attn: Julie Wilson, P.O. Box 981, Annandale, VA 22003. If you are paying by credit card, we will use the information you provide on the Purchase Contract. There will be an additional 5% processing fee on the purchase price of the dress if you are paying by credit card. For international clients we will also accept an International Wire Transfer. Please contact us for our bank information if you would like to choose this option.

 

Scenario 2: If you do not currently have the dress in your possession, once the Purchase Contract has been submitted, the dress will be prepared for mailing and identified as sold. Our preferred method of payment is by personal check. Make checks payable to Encore Ballroom Couture and mail to Encore Ballroom Couture, Attn: Julie Wilson, P.O. Box 981, Annandale, VA 22003. Once the check has been received and processed, the dress will be shipped to you. If you prefer to pay by credit card, once the Purchase Contract is submitted and credit card payment is processed, the dress will be prepared and shipped to you. There will be an additional 5% processing fee on the purchase price of the dress if you are paying by credit card. For international clients we will also accept an International Wire Transfer. Please contact us for our bank information if you would like to choose this option. We will process the shipping cost as a separate charge on your credit card and send you a copy of the receipt, unless you provide a FedEx Account number.

 

NOTE: If you had previously rented this dress and now want to purchase it, your rental fee will be subtracted from the purchase price (if purchasing within two weeks of Rental End Date).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I purchase a dress from Encore Ballroom Couture?

Purchasing a previously owned dress is much more cost effective. In a lot of cases dresses may have never been worn, or only worn once or twice at most. Therefore it is much the same as purchasing a couture dress “on sale.” By doing this it makes the sport more affordable. Additionally, in some cases you are able to rent the dress you are interested in before you purchase it. If you decide to purchase, your rental fee will be applied towards the purchase price of the dress within 2 weeks of your Rental End Date! At Encore, we maintain the highest of standards with our entire inventory. All of our dresses have been professionally cleaned and refurbished in our Dress Spa.

Do I have to pay a registration fee prior to purchasing a dress?

No, you pay a registration fee to submit dresses to Encore Ballroom Couture for consignment and/or rental.

How can I tell if a dress is for sale and how much it costs?

When you click on a dress it will give you the details of the dress and availability options. The amount listed next to Purchase Price is the current amount to purchase the dress. If this option is not listed, then the dress is a rental only.

What method of payment do you accept for the purchase of a dress?

Checks (personal, bank, company, or cashier’s) are our preferred method of payment. Please make checks payable to Encore Ballroom Couture and mail after the submission of the Purchase Contract to P.O. Box 981, Annandale, VA 22003. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards. If you choose to pay the purchase price by credit card, a %5 credit card processing fee will be added.

NOTE: We currently do not accept Discover or debit cards.

What if the dress I want to purchase is under contract for a try on or rental?

If it is under contract for try-on, the purchase will take priority. Our client will be notified immediately and have the option to choose a different dress for try-on.

If the purchase is within one month of an existing rental date the lady purchasing will be notified. The lady may purchase the dress, but we feel the right thing to do is also honor the existing Rental Contract. We could not do that last minute to a lady. We feel this is the fairest way to handle this situation and thus far it has worked out nicely. Encore will pay for the cleaning and shipping costs of the dress to the new owner at the conclusion of the rental. Please submit the Purchase Contract online and submit. Once your payment has been processed and the dress has been returned from the rental and cleaned, we will email you the tracking number of the dress once shipped.

If the rental is over one month away, the purchase will take priority. The other client will be notified immediately and have the option to choose a different dress, or receive a full refund of their rental fee.

Will I be able to contact the owner of the dress I am purchasing with any questions?

Absolutely not! No personal information will be given out to any clients for any reason.

Does the try-on on fee or shipping costs go towards the purchase of the dress?

No.

Do you offer professional discounts on the purchase of a dress?

No.

What if I chose to purchase the dress by check and it is returned due to insufficient funds?

If your check is returned due to insufficient funds, there is a $75 fee. We will process this fee on the credit card you provided on your Purchase Contract. We will contact to arrange an alternate method of payment.

What if a dress I really like is too short, too long, or needs any other alterations?

If you purchase a dress, once it is paid for in full, you may make any alterations you desire. We do not offer any alterations. You may consult with your seamstress on ways to lengthen or shorten the dress to fit your measurements.

NOTE: No Alterations are included in the purchase of the dress.

May I return a dress?

All purchases are final. We are more than happy to register the dress back with our company for consignment and/or rental. For Adult and Junior dresses, registration is $60 per dress, for a period of six months. To do so, please fill out the Registration Contract online and submit.
