Pantone Color of the Year 2019

The 2019 Pantone Color of the Year is Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546). “It emits the desired, familiar, and energizing aspects of color found in nature. In its glorious, yet unfortunately more elusive, display beneath the sea, this vivifying and effervescent color mesmerizes the eye and mind. Lying at the center of our naturally vivid and chromatic ecosystem, PANTONE Living Coral is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of color.”

“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral.  With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial PANTONE Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”

– Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute™

About Fashion Correspondent

Emma Francois

Emma loves writing, illustrating, blogging, designing, and following the detailed and intricate fashion world. A student at Georgetown University, she is studying writing and art history with hopes to pursue a career in fashion journalism in the future. An avid traveler, Emma finds inspiration through the architectures and street styles of cultures across the globe. After living in Hyderabad, India for three years, Emma began comparing the role fashion plays in different societies and lifestyles. Fascinated by the different fabrics and styles of saris, she began to understand how clothing is both cultural and personal. Just as there are countless ways to wrap a sari, the creative limit for designers is also endless. Emma is thrilled to be working with Encore and delighted to be able to combine her passion for reporting the latest trends and sartorial breakthroughs with her love for developing and illustrating fashion characters. Exploring the realm of ballroom couture and its relationship with fashions worldwide is just one of her exciting new adventures. Encore is thrilled to have such a multifaceted and talented lady helping our client’s make fashion forward choices!
