Kentucky Grass

Kentucky Grass, a gorgeous and sparkly Smooth ballroom gown by Designs to Shine. Firstly, the dress is all white with green detailing. It is sleeveless, with a halter neckline that has hook and eye closures on the back of the neck. Furthermore, the bodice and hips are made from a stretch knit fabric in white. The front and back of the dress has a plunging “V” with several white elastic straps connecting it. The straps form rows of “X”s. Green trim starts at the neck, and wraps around to the back. The green trim also wraps horizontally on the hips to the front and back of the dress. Likewise, pieces of the trim start at the hips and drape vertically down the skirt made from a lustrous satin-like material in white. Lastly, the dress has built-in bra cups and bodysuit.

This Designs to Shine gown holds up to the name, and really does shine with a multitude of high end crystals! Vitrail Medium and Olivine crystals sparkle on the green trim, meanwhile, AB shines on the white sections of the dress bodice. Similarly, the plunging v-necklines on the front and back of the dress glitter with embellishments including appliqués studded with premium crystals, specialty large crystals, and iridescent beading. Finally, the dress has accessories including earrings and several armbands.

We all love a white ensemble, it is the perfect canvas to build upon, adding a touch of color, texture, sparkles, or all of the above. Elie Saab, a designer known for his rich usage of color, decided to shake things up and predominantly uses white for the Spring 2020 collection. From white pantsuits with gold beading to lacey white dresses with silver appliqués. This trend transitions perfectly to ballroom, as white will stand out brilliantly on the dance floor.
